What is the offset load test?

A measurement of how far the vessel heels when an induced load is added to one side of the vessel.

The weight of the load required for the test is determined by using the following equation:

Weight = length x breadth x 25kg

The stability is deemed satisfactory when the angle of heel does not exceed 15° and the freeboard to the deck is not less than 75 mm at any point.
